The role:
An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Warehouse Manager to manage the efficient day to day running of the warehousing, production, distribution and third party operations.

What you’ll be doing:
As Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will support the Head of Warehouse Operations with a broad range of warehouse activities that will involve the following:

• Supporting the Head of Warehouse Operations with the management of the fulltime and temporary staff including training and development.
• Ensure all new starters are fully trained to carry out their duties and training records are kept up to date.
• Manage and control the warehouse function to ensure costs are controlled in line with the warehouse budget.
• Manage UK & Export distribution to major retailers, wholesalers, store and mail order.
• Manage supplier relationships particularly carriers and consumable suppliers.
• Ensure the picking, packing and dispatching of all customer orders are done in a timely manner, as per the company requirements.
• Control the receipt, checking and locating on inventory from all deliveries.
• Manage the production department to ensure all orders are completed on time in full and meet delivery expectations.
• Manage the cycle counting and management of inventory.
• Ensure all returns are dealt with efficiently.
• Build effective inter-departmental and customer relationships.
• To work to and comply with the company health and safety policy at all times.
• To observe the company disciplinary rules, hygiene and security procedures.
• Recognise development opportunities in the warehouse and with the Head of Warehouse Operations help to develop them.

 

What we’re looking for:
Our ideal Assistant Warehouse Manager will have:

• Excellent people management skills
• Excellent knowledge of warehousing and production processes
• Knowledge of Lot No. controls
• IT skills, ERP, Office, email and internet
• Knowledge of import/export shipping and documentation
• Hands on and flexible approach
• Attention to detail
• Health and safety conscious
• Good communication skills
• Minimum 3 years experience in a warehouse and production environment

 

What we are offering:
As Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will provide support to the Head of Warehouse Operations  and  the Warehouse team to ensure the smooth running of the operation and safe working practices within the fast paced and dynamic multi-product environment.

• To assist in improving the performance, productivity, processes and profitability of business operations by delivering the strategy and expectations set out by the Head of Warehouse Operations.
• To assist the Warehouse & Operations Manager with the implementation and running of the Third Party pallet storage Operation.
• The role is based in our Lancing office, just a stone’s throw from the beach and Brooklands Park working 37.5 hours a week – Monday to Friday.
