Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Fizz Creations Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

Financial Year Ending: 31 December 2026 (Mid-year review July 2026)

This Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015. It sets out the steps Fizz Creations Ltd (“Fizz Creations”, “we”, “our”) has taken to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and global supply chains.

  1. Our Business, Structure & Supply Chain

Fizz Creations is a UK-based designer and supplier of novelty gifts, lighting, toys, home décor and lifestyle products. Our head office is located in Lancing, West Sussex, supported by our Hong Kong team who work closely with our manufacturing partners.

Our supply chain extends primarily across China, covering manufacturers of ceramics, plastics, electronics, card and other timber-based products and packaging. We source through long-standing, carefully selected suppliers, who provide updated ethical audits, documentation, and welcome annual visits from Fizz Creations staff.

We recognise that certain geographies and production types carry elevated labour-rights risks, and we therefore maintain robust due diligence and oversight processes.

  1. Our Commitment

Fizz Creations is committed to acting ethically, responsibly and transparently in all business relationships. We strive to ensure there is no modern slavery, forced labour, servitude or human trafficking in any part of our business or supply chains.

We are members of SEDEX, use BSCI and SMETA-aligned audits, and manage non-conformities within set timeframes using our internal database.

  1. Policies Related to Modern Slavery

To support our prevention efforts, we maintain a suite of policies and procedures that set clear expectations for employees, suppliers and service providers:

  • Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Policy
  • Supplier Ethical Code of Conduct (aligned with ETI Base Code and ILO Conventions)
  • Supplier Approval & Monitoring Procedures
  • Whistleblowing Policy (ensuring protection of whistleblowers)
  • Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policy
  • Ethical Recruitment Policy (covering both Fizz and supplier recruitment practices)

These policies are reviewed annually and communicated to staff and suppliers where appropriate.

  1. Due Diligence in Our Supply Chain

We maintain effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking are not occurring anywhere in our supply chain, as stated in our original commitment.

Our due diligence includes:

1. Supplier Screening & Approval

  • Review of ethical audits (SEDEX/SMETA, BSCI or equivalent)
  • Completion of the Fizz Factory Questionnaire, reviewed against audit data to assign a dashboard risk rating
  • On-site assessments by Fizz Creations Hong Kong staff or an approved third party

2. Ongoing Monitoring

  • Annual/semi-annual audits
  • Corrective Action Plan follow-up
  • Audit non-conformity review and closure
  • Supply chain mapping for higher-risk product categories

3. Long-standing Supplier Relationships
Our established supplier base has demonstrated ongoing commitment to maintaining ethical standards and transparency.

Fizz Creations applies stringent, ethical recruitment practices to ensure no form of modern slavery enters through our own hiring channels.

Direct Recruitment & Approved Agencies

  • We recruit directly wherever possible.
  • Any recruitment agency used must comply with Fizz’s Ethical Recruitment Policy and UK labour regulations.

Clear, Voluntary Employment Terms

  • All contracts are written in accessible language.
  • Employees are free to terminate employment without penalty.
  1. Ethical Recruitment – Supply Chain & Labour Providers

Recruitment of workers—especially migrant labour—in global supply chains is known to be a major risk area for forced labour. We therefore require suppliers to adopt fair, legal and transparent recruitment practices.

Supplier Recruitment Requirements

No Recruitment Fees

Workers must never pay:

  • Agency or broker fees
  • Deposits or “security payments”
  • Document-processing fees
  • Transport or medical fees tied to recruitment

Suppliers must cover all recruitment-related costs.

Prohibition of Document Withholding

Suppliers must not hold passports or personal documents. If secure storage is offered, access must be voluntary and unlimited.

Transparent Contracts

Workers must receive contracts:

  • In a language they understand
  • In advance (especially for migrant workers)
  • Detailing wages, hours, benefits and conditions clearly

Labour Agency Oversight

Suppliers must ensure all labour agents used are:

  • Licensed and legally compliant
  • Audited for ethical recruitment
  • Prohibited from charging worker fees
  • Operating traceable recruitment pathways

Recruitment-Related Risk Indicators We Monitor

We monitor for signs such as:

  • High levels of migrant workers with debt
  • Complex or unlicensed labour-agent chains
  • Withholding of documents
  • Excessive overtime linked to debt repayment
  • Reports of coercion, movement restriction or deposit payments

Worker Voice & Grievance Mechanisms

Workers in supplier factories must have access to grievance channels, including confidential reporting lines, factory systems, and Fizz escalation pathways.

  1. Risk Assessment & Management

We identify and assess potential risk areas when considering new suppliers and regularly review existing supply chains to detect and mitigate risk.

Our risk management includes:

  • Mapping risk by region, product category and workforce profile
  • Reviewing labour-agent use and recruitment pathways
  • Monitoring overtime levels, worker turnover and wage patterns
  • Prioritising high-risk suppliers for additional audits or visits

To date, we have not been made aware of any instances of modern slavery or trafficking in our supply chain. Should any be identified, we would act immediately in accordance with our legal and moral obligations.

  1. Training & Awareness

We provide training to Buying, Quality, Compliance and HR employees to ensure they understand:

  • How to identify potential signs of forced labour
  • Escalation routes
  • Ethical recruitment standards
  • Supplier engagement expectations

Training is reviewed and updated annually.

  1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

To monitor effectiveness, we track:

  • % of suppliers with current ethical audits
  • Recruitment-related non-conformities raised/closed
  • Number of supplier site visits per year
  • Staff training completion rates
  • Any whistleblowing reports and outcomes

We are committed to strengthening recruitment- and labour-related KPIs over time.

  1. Continuous Improvement

Fizz Creations is committed to continual improvement of our systems and processes to ensure modern slavery does not exist in our operations or supply chain. We review this statement and relevant policies annually.

Planned improvements include:

  • Deeper audits of labour-agent chains
  • Enhanced migrant-worker due diligence
  • Expanded staff training on recruitment risks
  • Improved supply-chain transparency tools
  1. Board Approval

This statement has been approved by the Board of Directors of Fizz Creations Ltd and will be reviewed annually.
